Academics again provide the excuse to sing a few songs and show footage from a football game: this time it's USC against Stanford in 1928. (The game was, in reality, won by USC 10-0, but through the magic of cinema, the results are somewhat altered here.) USC teammates Eddie and Biff (Elliott Nugent and Robert Armstrong) share the same room and the same girl, Babs (Sally Starr), but don't find out about the latter until the big game. Their coach avoids disaster with a timely speech, persuading them that winning is more important than women. leave a comment
