Berto, who was superb as Celine in CELINE AND JULIE GO BOATING, acted in and directed this visually alive picture set in Paris' decadent Pigalle. She plays a waitress at a bar frequented by drug pushers and addicts. Berto is aided in her attempts to help her strung-out friends by a
priest who is believed to perform miracles. An admirable, but minor first film released in France two years earlier. (In French; English subtitles.)
