1968, Movie, NR, 90 mins

One of Karloff's final four films, partly shot in Mexico. Karloff's scenes were filmed in Los Angeles, back-to-back with his scenes from the other three films, all made by the same company during a five-week stretch. Karloff plays a wealthy landowner who is shocked by the disappearance of his niece, Julissa. She and several other natives of Coaibai Island have become victims of a strange voodoo ritual involving snake poison and sacrifices. Police captain Bertrand investigates and learns that Karloff is the tribal leader, then destroys him and the ritual site with a charge of dynamite. A bad film, even for Karloff fans. leave a comment
