Roy Acuff and his Smoky Mountain Boys inherit a ranch and are allowed to manage it on a three-month trial basis, much to the chagrin of the former owner's sons. They try to frame kindly old Roy, but he teaches them a thing or two while still finding time to turn out a couple of tunes with the boys in the band. Roy Acuff was a legend in the country music field both for his music and as one of the original performers on Nashville's famed live radio show, the "Grand Ole Opry." This film represents Hollywood's attempt to cash in on a rise in popularity of country and western music after WW II. leave a comment
