A Small Circle Of Friends

This well-meaning view of life on a college campus during the turbulent 1960s fails to gel, mainly because of the misdirection of Rob Cohen, who tries to rein in his actors rather than letting them play off each other. Brad Davis and Jameson Parker are best friends and roommates who share an attraction to the spirited Karen Allen. Though Davis beds her first, Allen and Parker eventually begin living together in an "open" relationship. The film attempts to show how changing attitudes toward sex, politics, and gender roles affected the lives of these three friends.
