A satire on the old Hollywood oater stars, somewhat influenced by the life of William "Bill" Boyd, has Mahoney playing an obnoxious and egotistical movie star who takes full advantage of his catapult into fame. This is much to the dismay of the many studio people who have to endure him, especially Adams as the press agent assigned to watch over the rowdy cowboy.
