The children of famous movie actors are often just not as good as their parents. Such is the case here as Rin Tin Tin, Jr., shows that the rule of thumb applies to animal stars as well. He's helping Toomey break up a group of smugglers led by Mower. The dialog is laughably awful and the
whole film plays like an unintentional comedy. Though sound was sophisticated by 1938, this film woefully sticks to cinematic techniques of the silent era, adding to the laughter.
