At an Austrian ski resort, American music student Milner works as a ski instructor. His contract stipulates that he must entertain female guests in the evening. This inevitably leads to a series of sophomoric hijinks, including wiring a pinball machine to one of the instructors' beds. Bets are made on when the machine will tilt. When Martin (daughter of Dean) comes to the lodge, she is put off by the seduction games--and by Milner as well, although he's not a part of the routine. Of course, he ends up winning her heart after the obligatory ski-jumping contest. This film tries to be sort of a beach picture in a snowy setting and succeeds on that level (it's just as bad as the majority of beach pictures). The dialog and the acting styles are incredibly bad, and the ski jumping is obviously faked and dotted with stock footage. Writer/director Siodmak, who wrote DONOVAN'S BRAIN (1953), can do much better than this forgettable nonsense. leave a comment
