SIXTEEN CANDLES
starstarstarstar
This funny, unpretentious film marked writer John Hughes's first time out as a director and made Molly Ringwald a teenage screen queen. She plays Sam, a high-school sophomore whose 16th birthday is shaping up to be the worst day of her life. Michael Schoeffling plays the hottie she loves, and Anthony Michael Hall is the total geek who loves her. Read the complete review for Sixteen Candles

Anthony Michael Hall Is Back in the Zone

As USA Network's The Dead Zone returns for a new season (premiering Sunday at 10 pm/ET), series star and former Brat Packer Anthony Michael Hall ponders what's in his future.

TV Guide: You filmed the past two seasons of Dead Zone in Vancouver a year ago. Any hints about what's in store for your character, Johnny, this season?
Anthony Michael Hall:
He's just finished tracking down Sean Patrick Flanery [who plays corrupt congressman Greg Stillson] for four years.... I can't rememb read more

Lost So first, click here to read Angel Cohn's reaction to this episode when it aired last March. Wow, it seems so long ago, when we were naive and just learning about the evil numbers. When we could be distracted by the eye candy of Boone and Shannon. When the hatch was just something we thought Locke was exploring to pass the time. Anyway, Lindelof and Cuse don't do anything without reason, so this rerun must be providing us with clues. Or at least reminding us of stuff we're supposed to be thinking about when next week's new episode comes around. Rousseau: We've almost forgotten all about her. Where is she hi read more

The West Wing There was radioactive — and political — fallout in the air with tonight's Three Mile Island-meets-Hurricane Katrina scenario. In a classic example of West Wing wish fulfillment, we got to see how the Bartlet Administration might handle a massive national disaster. In a word: well. From the emergency's get-go, Bartlet took command with his "the buck stops with me" leadership style. (Hmmm, wonder what the writers were getting at there?) From venting the radiation to asking the engineers to keep working, to making the trip to the disaster site, POTUS was on top of his game. It was a good day's work, even if the prez was getting advice from Oz's Schillinger. With all that going on, Kate still had to keep track of that other China syndrome brewin read more

Grey's Anatomy I loved tonight's...

Grey's AnatomyI loved tonight's episode, and I'm not lying — unlike everyone in this episode. Ellen Pompeo's closing narration summed it up: "The truth hurts — so we lie." Cristina lied to Burke by not telling him she still has her apartment. Meredith lied by telling Cristina she was over McDreamy. Nice to know Alex passed his boards this time. Great quote from Izzie to Alex: "Congratulations, you're not an idiot, except when you're being an idiot." How cool to see Patrick Dempsey and Sandra Oh together in several scenes tonight, especially since they're the two actors who keep getting nominations (and in Sandra's case, an actual award — I was ecstatic when she won that Golden Globe!). Here's hoping the other people on the show start gett read more
