1963, Movie, NR, 105 mins

Reynolds plays a Broadway star in need of rest. She heads for a Connecticut hideaway and 15 minutes into the film is confronted by six of the most adorably nauseating moppets ever to grace the silver screen. Naturally she falls for the tykes and gets temporary custody of them. She finally heads back to the Great White Way for a new show, but when word comes that one of the kids has run off, Reynolds knows what she must do. Quitting show biz for good, she heads back to the farm, the sextet, and the waiting arms of Robertson. Though the leads are suitable, the talent is clearly wasted in this overly cute froth. Sets are undeniably studio with no hint at realism. This was the first directorial effort for Champion, a real surprise considering the quality of his Broadway projects. This film is not recommended for diabetics. leave a comment
