Six Lessons From Madame La Zonga

1941, Movie, NR, 62 mins

starstarstarstar
Stupid comedy features Velez in the title role, as the singing sensation of a Cuban nightclub called La Zonga. Great name, boring place. Velez goes through a few rumba numbers (modified a bit to please the censors) while Lang attempts the unbelievable as he tries to get his Oklahoma jazz band booked at the club. Merely an excuse for some average production numbers. Watch for an appearance by Frawley, who would again run into Cuban nightclubs on television's "I Love Lucy." leave a comment
