Sisters: Review

A strained romantic melodrama starring O'Neil as a young Manhattan model who meets and falls for Gleason, a rural-born boy who has just landed a job as a census taker. Gleason's small town roots immediately sense trouble when he is introduced to O'Neil's acquaintance, Wallace, a dandy from Chicago. When O'Neil's sister, O'Day, finds herself forced to ask her sibling for a loan because her husband, Robards, has been out of work, Wallace moves in to take advantage of the vulnerable housewife and arranges a tryst. Meanwhile, Gleason learns that Wallace was indeed a crook in Chicago and exposes him to the police. All ends well when O'Day and Robards are reunited, leaving Gleason and O'Neil to marry and settle down out in the country using the reward money. leave a comment
