Sisters, Or The Balance Of Happiness

Two sisters, played by Lampe and Gabriel, grow emotionally dependent upon each other in this controlled, detailed study of sibling relations. Lampe is the elder sister, a successful secretary whom university biology student Gabriel worships. When Gabriel commits suicide, Lampe feels a need to fill the void left by her sister's death. She takes up with Frueh, a coworker, and soon develops the same emotional bond that she shared with Gabriel. When Lampe finds her late sister's diary, she discovers that their great dependency may have brought about the suicide, so Lampe breaks off her new relationship and bravely faces the world alone.
