Bostonians Grayson and Allyson pack their bags for the Big Apple and find love and music without much effort. Grayson pairs up with piano player-club owner Durante, and Allyson does the same with opera sponsor Lawford. Grayson has aspirations to the Metropolitan opera, to the shame and disgruntlement of her back-bay family, including Allyson who starts out something of a stick. The singing members of the cast deliver the following tunes: "The Fire Chief's Daughter," "There Are Two Sides to Every Girl," "Down by the Ocean," "Nellie Martin," "After the Show," "G'wan Your Mudder's Callin"' (Sammy Fain, Ralph Freed), "Hello, Hello, Hello" (Jimmy Durante), "The Prize Song" (from Wagner's opera "Die Meistersinger"). leave a comment
