Bostonians Grayson and Allyson pack their bags for the Big Apple and find love and music without much effort. Grayson pairs up with piano player-club owner Durante, and Allyson does the same with opera sponsor Lawford. Grayson has aspirations to the Metropolitan opera, to the shame and disgruntlement of her back-bay family, including Allyson who starts out something of a stick.
