An airplane carrying the standard slice-of-life cast of characters crash-lands on a deserted island in the South Seas. They all have troubled pasts: Evans is running away from her husband; Cabot is a gunman on the run; Lockhart is a corrupt politician; and Barry and Conway are nefarious
salesmen. The island appears deserted until Boles, an escaped convict facing a murder rap, shows up. The plot is pretty lurid and takes the film's entire length to unfold. The message of the story--that one must face up to past mistakes--is driven home with all the subtlety of a jackhammer.
