Once A Sinner

A plodding story about Mackaill falling in love with clean-cut McCrea, then nearly losing him when her sordid past is discovered. They are a married couple living a sort of innocent bliss in the country when McCrea decides he must move to the big city if he is to get anywhere in his work as an inventor. There, he overhears a conversation about his wife having been a "kept" woman at one time and falls into a jealous rage. Of course, all is forgiven in the end. The slow pace here tries to make it seem as though there were some depth behind these characters, but there is none.
