Director Gallone combines his love for the flamboyant with his love of the opera, and comes up with this tale of a cabbie in Rome who loves to kick out an aria while behind the wheel. He is offered a shot at singing in the States but thinks it a hoax. He eventually agrees to try, but
it's too late and he misses his chance. Likeable for a while, but overlong and thinly scripted. Released in Italy in 1950. (In Italian; English subtitles.)
