The sentimental true story of Soeur Sourire, the singing nun who made it all the way to the Ed Sullivan Show, is faithfully retold. Reynolds plays the guitar-strumming Belgian nun who takes an interest in Cordell, a motherless boy whose father is alcoholic. The only one who loves the tyke is his 17-year-old sister, Ross.
