Popular bandleader Monroe made an unusual screen debut, switching from the ballroom to the prairie. When Monroe is denied a gold mine he believes rightfully belongs to him, the conductor becomes a Robin Hood-style outlaw, plundering the mine. Corey is the bad guy, with Brennan as a doctor-preacher and Bond once more playing a sheriff. Raines is the saloon keeper and love interest for Monroe. SINGING GUNS is nothing more than a routine western that runs much longer than necessary. Monroe's hit of 1949, the Oscar-nominated "Mule Train," is included in the soundtrack. Other songs include "Singing My Way Back Home," and "Mexican Trail." leave a comment
