Marshall is a woman who's convinced that she's under a curse. She's brought to Bruce's plantation to recuperate and of course finds love in the process. While there she undergoes a transformation from unhappy woman to radiant beauty. But a former husband, whom she thought dead for years,
turns up alive. He's conveniently killed in a car wreck in this plodding, dull remake of DANGEROUS. The locale switch from New York to Singapore is of no help, and Marshall is definitely not Bette Davis (the star of the original). The direction is in a straightforward style, but the drama comes
across as trite and the plot's implausibilities are evident.
