Director Victor Schertzinger wrote both the story and the tunes for this lighthearted romance, the second of James Cagney's independent films for Grand National. Cagney is in fine dancing form as Terry Rooney, a successful Manhattan band leader who journeys to Hollywood in search of a movie contract but abandons his pursuit after an unscrupulous producer (Lockhart) convinces him he's headed nowhere.
