Sing As We Go

An amusing star vehicle for popular comedienne Fields, which sees her once again cast as a spunky mill girl. When the financially troubled mill is forced to close down during the summer, Fields makes do by going through a series of holiday-related jobs in Blackpool that lead to some clever comedic situations. One day Fields meets wealthy businessman Grossmith and persuades him to invest in the ailing mill, thus saving the day. A better than average British comedy blessed with an appealing star and an equally fascinating look at industrial Britain before WW II.
