Rich playboy Melton goes incognito and takes a job as a clerk for a store he owns. He wants to learn the ins and outs of the business, but gets distracted in his aims by music counter clerk Ellis--a perfect contrivance to pepper this forgettable programmer with some equally forgettable tunes sung by Melton. Herbert has some funny moments as a kleptomaniac, but this is mostly an inept musical that suffers from a silly screenplay and a lower-than-usual budget. Songs include: "Summer Night," "The Little House That Love Built," "That's the Least You Can Do for a Lady" (Al Dubin, Harry Warren), "Your Eyes Have Told Me So" (Gus Khan, Walter Blaufuss, Egbert Van Alstyne). leave a comment
