Peers plays a Welsh grocer who suddenly realizes his dream of becoming a songwriter after winning a contest that lands him a contract with a major publishing company in London. Leaving his girl, Watts, behind, Peers moves to the city and soon suffers from bouts of loneliness that stifle
his songwriting ability. He is able to provide the company with songs he had previously written, but he struggles to write something new. Eventually he comes up with one and it is almost stolen by an unscrupulous publisher. Luckily, Peers saves his music and renews his relationship with Watts. A
pointless exercise in maudlin sentiment populated with selfish characters.
