Minor British pop idol ("Rock On") turned minor British film actor (STARDUST, 1974) David Essex stars as Nick Freeman, a garage mechanic with an attitude. He's also got the hot prototype motorcycle (a model actually built for Britain's Barry Hart) of his late elder brother, and fully
intends to enter it in a race against American punk Bruce McBride (Beau Bridges). McBride is known as one of the dirtiest racers since Professor Fate went up against The Great Leslie in THE GREAT RACE (1965), but you'd never guess that from the racing sequences here, which are fairly unexciting.
Cristina Raines is the contested love interest; Essex wrote and performed the score.
