Picking up a few months after Part II left off, the story opens as Ricky (Bill Moseley), the "Santa Claus Killer," lies in a coma. After being shot several times, he required brain reconstruction and was left with half a skull (the top of his head is a glass dome). Now Ricky is part of an experiment conducted by Dr. Newbury (Richard Beymer), who is investigating the dreams of a young blind girl, Laura (Samantha Scully), and their weird relation to Ricky's psycho-slasher past. It's not long, of course, before Ricky comes out of his coma and escapes to pursue the valiant blind girl. Part III is certainly better than its predecessors, but that's not saying much. Hellman has a flair for chaotic camera angles and handles the film's cinematic references quite nicely, but the whole thing lacks suspense, is slowly paced, and badly acted. leave a comment
