Signpost To Murder

Whitman murders his wife and spends ten years in an asylum for the criminally insane. Mulhare, his doctor, tells the man of an obscure law that will get Whitman a new trial if he can escape and remain free for 14 days. The prisoner breaks loose and holes up in the home of Woodward, an unhappily married woman whose husband is away on business. The two are attracted to one another, but Whitman wonders what's going on when he discovers a man's body at a mill wheel next to the house.
