A boring, inpet remake of the Holmes story. Richardson plays the famed sleuth without much heart, and Healy plays Watson as a buffoon. The two are after an ex-con with a wooden leg and cannibalistic midget. The production is amateurish, and most of the acting is laughable. Surprisingly
enough, the sets are quite detailed and have a good period look. It's a shame they were wasted on this nonsense. The film premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival as the first film in a new 13-part Holmes series.
