Ekberg is cast as Queen of Palmyra in 217 A.D. Marshall is a general who is taken prisoner and feigns hatred of Rome to gain Ekberg's confidence. His soldiers take her prisoner but Marshall, who has fallen in love with her, gets her released. He tells the Senate Ekberg's misdeeds toward Rome were perpetrated by a counsellor, and the Romans buy it. This poorly dubbed epic, which runs a long 84 minutes, throws logic gleefully to the wind.
