Third-round play takes place on the Old Course at St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Even when he's not in contention, Tiger Woods remains the focus of media attention before, during, and even after most tournaments. But in this particular event, there's a bit more justification. Woods won the last two Opens held at St. Andrews, clobbering the venerable layout in both 2000 and 2005. On both occasions, the course failed to provide its customary defense, with Wood notching 19-under and 14-under victories in rare windless conditions. — Dave Roeder

As entertaining as the big green guy and Donkey are, for this pop of twin 5-year-old boys, it's the ancillary fairy-tale critters who make the Shrek films full of adult-targeted chuckles. On the occasion of ABC's Shrek the Halls special premiering tonight at 8 pm/ET, TVGuide.com chatted with Conrad Vernon, the voice behind Gingy the Gingerbread Man, and the director of Shrek 2 and the much-anticipated Monsters vs. Aliens.
TVGuide.com: When I stopped to think about it, it dawned upon me that Christmastime cannot bode well for the Gingerbread Man.Conrad Vernon: [Laughs] No, it doesn’t. It doesn’t. I haven't seen the whole [ABC special] yet but I've definitely seen my part in it, and it's kind of horrifying — but that’s fine.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Conjuring up $101.4 million, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire enjoyed the best opening weekend performance yet for the franchise and the fourth-best three-day opening weekend ever, ranking behind Spider-Man, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith and Shrek 2. Rounding out the weekend's Top 5 were Walk the Line (bowing with $22.4 million), Chicken Little ($14.8 mil), Derailed ($6.5 mil) and Zathura ($5.1 mil).
