A fitfully successful movie biography of famed British musical comedy producer George Edwardes (here called George Howard for some reason), starring Greene as the beloved impresario. The film follows Greene from the 1890s when he leaves Ireland and arrives in London full of ambition and bold ideas. He purchases a run-down music hall and soon turns it into the talk of the town by bringing musical comedy to the masses. In the process he meets a beautiful dance-hall girl, Todd, and makes her his wife. With her help, Greene becomes Britain's biggest musical producer. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes for Greene during WW I when he is captured and held in a German prisoner...
