The Showdown

Elliott, in his last film for Republic, is searching for the killer of his brother. He joins up with a wagon train, knowing that one of the men traveling with it is the guilty party. Through intimidation he pushes the men past their endurance levels, until he discovers Brennan, cast strikingly against type, is the guilty party. Brennan ends up being gored to death by a steer and Elliott has his revenge. Elliott gives a fine performance under an intelligent, suspenseful direction.
