A better than average outing for Boyd features him, along with sidekick Hayden, on the trail of some horse thieves. A seemingly honest rancher turns out to be a bad egg, and some city slickers (led by Ankrum as a European villain) are after some horses. Despite Cassidy's relatively
modern-day dress, the film shows Civil War era locomotives. The best thing here is a drawn-out poker match pitting Boyd against a crooked dealer. How he outwits the man is clever and well thought out. Maynard, in a minor role, was a former series star himself and brother of popular movie cowboy
Ken.
