Movie cowboy Starrett trades in his spurs for a magnifiying glass in this unexciting thriller. Three murders occur at a New England college. When one youth's roommate is killed, his father (whose hobby incidentally is sleuthing) sets out to discover the killer. It turns out that a
professor and his son are the parties responsible, with the motive an inheritance. Some needless plot complications muddy matters until all clears up at the end. The production values are passable and acting is average for this boring programmer. A possible "first" was established in this film,
the use of an air gun for a murder weapon, used many times afterward in crime stories and films...
