Ally Sheedy (Wargames, The Breakfast Club) and Steve Guttenberg (Cocoon, Police Academy) star in 1986's Short Circuit, about a heavily armed (but oh-so-cute!) military robot that escapes from the Defense Department after he short circuits in an electrical storm and begins to think for himself. His designer (Guttenberg) wants to find him before the military does, but Stephanie (Sheedy) has found him first. No disassemble!It's directed by John Badham, who has also directed Wargames, Blue Thunder and — lately — a couple of episodes of Heroes and other TV shows. Image Entertainment is releasing Short Circuit for Blu-ray Disc on May 20.
