When happy-go-lucky showgirl Carroll witnesses a parade of soldiers marching off to WW I, she begins to awaken to the seriousness of America's participation in the fight. That night she is involved in a harmless automobile fender-bender with a young Texas soldier, Cooper. The two strike
up a friendship and soon Cooper falls in love with Carroll. Carroll, however, is dating a rich man, Lukas, and views her relationship with Cooper as platonic only. Lukas, threatened by the presence of Cooper in Carroll's life, demands the showgirl stop seeing the soldier. Carroll reluctantly
