The attempt to create a sophisticated comedy out of this weak story, in which an insurance investigator and detective help solve a jewel robbery, was a total failure. It's hard to pinpoint just what to call this, but it certainly doesn't deserve to be called comedy. Before joining Paramount in 1925, Schulberg, as an independent producer, discovered Clara Bow and made her famous as the "It Girl." He returned to independent filmmaking in 1932 and worked as a staff producer for various Hollywood companies, but was unable to get work after WW II. leave a comment
