Sherlock Holmes In Washington

The master sleuth makes his first trip to America in order to pursue a matchbook cover which contains secret government documents. A British clerk is killed while transporting the documents from London to Washington. The matchbook goes from hand to hand, eventually winding up in the possession of the Nazi spy who is posing as a respected Washington citizen and doesn't even realize he has what he has been searching for all along. The American setting is played to the hilt, with the updated and highly scientific sleuthing of the FBI no match for Holmes' mental deductions, and Watson finding the game of baseball almost as enjoyable as his beloved cricket.
