Standard western fare with Lane as a cattleman driving his herd to Sundown (a symbolic name for a town if there ever was one) where he plans to prepare for a long vacation away from the dusty, dangerous cattle trail. He quickly finds himself pitted against Barcroft, a swindling cattle baron whose monopolizing ways are infuriating the locals.
