"Heavy" would be the best way to describe this allegory of passion. Harvey plays a poet who is in love with Koscina. She is a fiery Italian who seems interested only in lovemaking; he is a bit more conventional when it comes to romance. Too many metaphors cloud the emotional impact of this
plain old love-hate relationship. The lush Italian scenery and a soundtrack by Morricone help to create the appropriate atmosphere.
