A social-consciousness drama that concentrates on the inability of people from different classes to accept each other, resulting in the guilt that develops in an upper-class home. Hidari and Okada play a moderately well-off couple who come in contact with Yamashita, an old classmate of Okada who is now an impoverished ragpicker. Hidari's attempts to befriend Yamashita only result in castigation of them both and the sad realization that despite her efforts, there is little she can do to aid the poor man.
