Lighthearted tale has Davis as the conservative math teacher at a midwestern university. On the insistence of the dean's wife, she goes to New York to collect the royalties for a zesty romance novel. A knock on the head has Davis believing she really is the author. Oakie is the publisher who has cooked up a nifty publicity scene that involves the posing authoress. After some torrid adventures with a phony Russian count, Auer, Davis regains her faculties and returns to her sedate life on campus. All for the laughs, which Davis delivers in her own unusual style, having Oakie as good support. leave a comment
