Little more than an excuse to display some minor musical talent and long-stemmed ex-model Falkenburg's legs and "amateur" acting ability. Falkenburg pretends to be the daughter of a once prominent stage actress as a means of getting into a Broadway play. Neal is the Walter Winchell-like columnist she uses to get into the show. But Neal's enemy columnist, Worth, learns of Falkenburg's true identity and sets off a bomb under the plan. Frothy and senseless by today's standards, little musicals like this one gave war-weary production line workers a temporary escape from their numbing jobs. Songs include: "Let's March Together" (Saul Chaplin), "I Bumped My Head on a Star" (Cindy Walker), "Honk, Honk" (Roy Jacobs, Gene De Paul), "Timber Timber" (Don Reid, Henry Tobias), "Moon on My Pillow" (Charles, Henry, Elliot Tobias). leave a comment
