Three writers developed this story specifically for Young and Boyer. Unfortunately, however, the picture just drags along and is never able to take off. Young plays an American woman who meets and falls in love with Boyer, an industrialist of Chinese and Russian heritage. Unable to
consider marriage because of their racial differences, Boyer leaves for the mountains of China. A determined Young follows, but despite their love the relationship ends. Young and Boyer both are excellently cast, with the latter doing an outstanding job of expressing his inner turmoil.
