Navy lieutenant Tracy receives a dishonorable discharge for firing at Communist ships in China. He is without a job and has trouble finding one. He meets society woman Wray, whose life he saves. The girl takes a liking to him and, against her father's wishes, follows him across China by hiding on the boat he works on.
