The Shanghai Chest

1948, Movie, NR, 56 mins

starstarstarstar
Winters, the least effective of the three Charlie Chans, is called upon to solve a triple-murder case. While doing so, he spouts some Chinese proverb every third or fourth line, or so it seems. Fingerprints that belong to a dead man are left in obvious sight at all three murders, so Winters figures someone above suspicion has been using the false prints. Of course he's right. Director Beaudine was left helpless with the material given, and it shows. leave a comment
