When his wife is killed, all evidence points to Scott. His 8-year-old daughter, the slain woman's stepdaughter, is the only witness. The child has gone into a state of shock, leaving Davis (later to become the nation's First Lady) as the psychologist who tries to discover the truth before Scott dies in the electric chair. A fairly
taut drama that maintains an evenly paced level of suspense right up to the conclusion.
