This unusually self-assured debut from a young Steven Soderbergh not only nabbed the Cannes Film Festival's top prize, but is generally credited with launching the '90s "Amerindie" film revolution. That said, it's a surprisingly quiet film. James Spader pays a visit to old college buddy Peter Gallagher and his wife, Andie MacDowell. Blazing Saddles, Fargo, Groundhog Day, Halloween, Notorious, Rocky and sex, lies and videotape are among the 25 films selected this year for inclusion in the National Film Registry, Variety reports.
