Custer's last stand at the Little Big Horn is handled a little differently this time. Here the story revolves around Scott, a soldier branded a coward because he wasn't at the famous battle which had no survivors. To get over his guilt he heads up the detail that is sent out to bury the
dead and return with the officers' bodies. The convoluted ending depicts the Indians as being afraid of Custer's horse. Hale stands by her man throughout the painful ordeal.
